The following information is provided to facilitate the approval of Trusted Tester testing tools within your IT environment. The Federal Accessibility Community of Practice Working Group constantly updates this information. The latest web accessibility testing methodology is available in the Trusted Tester 5.1.3 GitHub repository, which provides the official testing process and tools for evaluating Section 508 compliance. All certified Trusted Testers must use this version, as it includes the latest enhancements and updates to the testing process.
Trusted Tester uses the following tools for Section 508 testing on websites:
Accessible Name and Description Inspector (ANDI)
- Developed by the Social Security Administration (SSA)
- Install ANDI at https://www.ssa.gov/accessibility/andi/help/install.html
- This installation connects to SSA servers for automatic updates
- You may need to clear your browser cache to enable updated functionality

Color Contrast Analyzer (CCA)
