Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs
Harry Fones serves as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs. In this role he helps oversee the department’s public outreach.
Fones served in the Office of Public Affairs during the previous Trump Administration. He was previously the Communications Director of the House Freedom Caucus. He has served in various communications roles in the House of Representatives, the office of Governor Larry Hogan, and the Republican National Committee.
A Maryland Native, he graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in history and political science.
